Horse Riding At Manorbier

Horse riding along the beach at Manorbier.

Pembrokeshire provides ideal countryside for riding with a wide range of opportunities. There are a number of equestrian establishments offering different types of riding experiences. All the stables offer tuition for the novice and will provide suitable protective headgear for all riders. You must wear shoes with heals to grip the stirrups. Trainers are not suitable.

There are stables that offer the traditional pony trekking with rides lasting from one hour for novices to whole day treks for the experienced rider. Treks are over open countryside or through quite lanes and woodland.

Western style riding is offered by a least two stables again with rides of varying duration depending on the experience of the rider. The rides are normally through quiet bridleways, country lanes, open countryside and woodland. The rides include a walk, jog and lope. Rides vary in duration from one hour for novices to whole day rides.

This style of riding is very different from the traditional British style. Many people believe it to be more comfortable.

One stable near the coast specializes in beach riding providing the tides are right. The rides are through coastal fields, shady woodlands and the beach. Again all levels of ability are catered for and riders are normally grouped according to ability. Rides range in duration from one hour to two and a half hours.

We have no association with any of the stables mentioned and would advise people to make their own enquiries as to the experience of any instructor and suitability of any horse you hire. For information on stables, see the Things To Do page.
