Castell Henllys. between Newport and Cardigan off the A487. Visit this reconstruction of an Iron Age fort and learn how people lived 2000 years ago. The fort has been built on the site of an original fort. The fort is owned and managed by the National Park Authority.

St.Davids Cathedral. Begun in 1181, the Cathedral is said to be built on the site on which St.David himself founded a monastic settlement. Magnificent ceilings and sloping floor. It has been an important place of pilgrimage for over 14 centuries, with two pilgrimages to St.Davids said to be the equal of one to Rome. The Treasury contains the Cathedral’s treasures including rings from medieval bishops, illuminated manuscripts and silver. Guided Tours.

Bosherton Lakes. Part of the National Trust owned Stackpole Estate, the lakes are covered in Water Lilly’s in June. Walks around the lakes and surrounding woodlands. The beach and dunes at Broadhaven South are within the Estate.

St.Govan’s Chapel, nr.Bosherton. A tiny chapel built into the cliff.

Stack Rocks and Green Bridge of Wales. Castlemartin. Dramatic rock arch and rock stacks. Great place to watch nesting sea birds in May and June. Access is through Army tank range and the road and coast path are closed when firing takes place.

The Gun Tower Museum, Pembroke Dock. The museum celebrates the history of the Naval Dockyards and the RAF Flying boat base. The dockyard built five Royal yachts.
